A world-recognised expert in Russian politics and security, as well as in issues relating to transnational crime, intelligence and modern conflict, Dr Mark Galeotti read History at Cambridge University and took his doctorate in Government at the London School of Economics. Now a senior researcher at UMV, the Institute for International Relations Prague, and coordinator of its Centre for European Security, he has been a faculty member at Keele University and New York University, a visiting professor at Rutgers-Newark (USA), Charles University (Czech Republic) and MGIMO (Russia). He has been attached as an adviser to the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and consults widely for government and commercial clients across Europe and North America.
